The Owner

Ultimate Pet was built on a deep belief in wellness, longevity, and the powerful connection between animals and the people who love them.

I’m an entrepreneur and the wife of the late Dr. Rob Mason, a highly respected veterinary specialist who dedicated his life to advancing animal health and the well-being of their owners. Today, I’m proud to relaunch Ultimate Pet with a renewed mission: to bring forward-thinking, wellness-based solutions to pets and their families.

Ultimate Pet is a family-driven company. My daughters, Kassia and Lily, are both shareholders and part of its future. Kassia lives in Vancouver with her partner Jeremy and their beloved (and very unique) cross-eyed cat, Jack. Lily has recently graduated from university and is now pursuing her path toward veterinary medicine—deeply inspired by her step dad's work and the impact he had on animal health.

Both Kassia and Lily are proud of their Métis heritage, which is an important part of who we are and the values we bring into this business.

At home, we share a special bond with our 16-year-old dog, Bones—our real-life proof that a proactive, wellness-focused approach works. Bones is thriving, medication-free, and living a vibrant life well into his senior years. He represents everything we stand for.

Ultimate Pet is not just a brand—it’s a continuation of Rob’s legacy. His work bridged traditional veterinary medicine with integrative wellness, and that philosophy remains at the heart of everything we do.

We believe the future of animal health lies in prevention, nutrition, and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal—so our pets can live longer, healthier, happier lives.

Where it all began

Dr. Robert Mason, BSc, DVM, DVSc, Dip. ABVP, Dip. ACVIM

Dr. Rob Mason was a respected veterinary specialist in small animal internal medicine, known for his clinical expertise, research contributions and forward-thinking approach to animal health.

A graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph (1986), he went on to complete a four-year internship and residency in internal medicine, earning his Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc) in 1994. His research helped pioneer the use of endobronchial stents for dogs with collapsing trachea.

Dr. Mason was board certified by both the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Companion Animals) and the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Small Animal Medicine). He founded a specialist referral practice in Vancouver and later worked across Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria, and the Okanagan.

He contributed to leading veterinary textbooks on airway disease and was a sought-after speaker across North America. In addition, he spent over 15 years working in the wellness field, integrating nutritional and complementary approaches into his practice.

Dr. Mason believed the future of healthcare lies in combining advanced medical diagnosis and treatment with proactive, wellness-based strategies focused on long-term health and prevention.

Dr. Mason’s legacy lives on through Ultimate Pet, continuing his vision of helping animals live longer, healthier lives.
